Stress is a word that is often used but often little understood. It is a normal reaction to difficult situations and you would be hard pressed to find someone who has not experienced stress at spoke point in their lives. Sustained stress can, however, have significant impact on mind and body and there comes a point where stress management is necessary.

Stress is a feeling of being overwhelmed and vulnerable to outside pressures. Your stress could be coming from a number of sources such as problems with money, work or relationships. Stress can mean different things to different people. Whilst in itself stress is not a diagnosable condition, long periods of feeling stressed is associated with problems such as anxiety and depression. It might not be possible to remove the actual external stress now, especially when it is due to things that are outside of your control. It is, however, possible to calm down the stress response in the body and thus reduce the impact it is having on you.
